Longtime former Babylon Village resident and fishing enthuthiast Frank Edward Thompson died March 7, 2009 in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was 82.

He was born in Brooklyn to Herman and Gertrude Thompson and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Frederick Shores on Harrison Avenue in Babylon Village after he married his wife Irma and the couple lived there for more than 40 years. Mr. Thompson had several careers in sales and as an owner of a grocery store in Baldwin. He retired to Chesapeake, Virginia in 1990.

He leaves behind his wife Irma in Chesapeake, Virginia and his sons: John and his wife Louise of Florida, Craig and his wife Debra of New Jersey and Ronald and his wife Jo of North Carolina. His grandchildren: John, Michael, Dolores, Daniel and Amanda Thompson and Crystal Plyler and her husband Joshua also survive him.

A funeral service was held on March 9, 2009 at the Graham Funeral Home in Chesapeake, Virginia.
