REMEMBER WHEN? Thanks to Joan St. John for the following info. which we hope our old time readers will remember: The very first issue of The Buzz published on October 4, 1937 at 118 Fire Island Avenue and edited by Joan Baxter and her staff:
Miss Kathleen McCully of Fire Island Avenue left for Walnut Hill School Wed., Sept. 29. She left on the 4:09 train and spent the night with her mother in Bronxville and left with the Brambles in their car. She will be a junior. She will return at Christmas for two or three weeks.
On Sat., the 2nd of October the staff voted on the name of the paper, the price due and officers. Theprice is two cents per copy. A monthly subscription delivered at your door is 10 cents."
OOPS WE'RE SORRY Mary Gallagher is the secretary of the Babylon Library, not the president, and Gail Askoff's first name was misspelled.
