Until their retirement they owned and operated Sal's Coats and Suits Company on Long Island Avenue, Deer Park. She and Sal then took off on many crosscountry adventures in their motor home. TheNanSal Studio at Dance! Ballroom & Studio in Sioux Falls was named in their honor, partly because of their love of dancing, especially at Roseland in New York City.
Nancy lived with her faith as the center of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church on Long Island and completed many Mother Mary walks. In addition, she was a Rosary Lady for more than 20 years, a dedication that she was very proud of, said her family.
Kind and compassionate, Nancy had a knack for making people laugh. She had a wonderful sense of humor, filling her life and lives of those around her with laughter. Thismust have been an inherited trait, for her sisters and parents were the same way, said her family.
Meticulous in her attire, Nancy was known for the many hats and scarves she loved to wear. Her fantastic Italian cooking and welcoming nature was well known by her neighbors; she loved to entertain.
When most are celebrating the freedom that children marrying brings, Nancy and Sal became the loving caretakers for her sisters Vera Arico and Josephine Guastella for many years. Her two sisters preceded her in death, as did her brothers Norman and Dominic Guastella.
Mrs. Burrello is survived by her daughter Mary Lou Steib and her husband Robert; her nephew Vincent Guastella and his wife Linda, and her niece Nora Arico, other nieces, as well as other nephews, and many grandnieces and nephews.
