LI Republic Airport Historical Society monthly meeting
For over 25 years the LI-Republic Airport Historical Society has been working to preserve and disseminate the rich aviation history of the Farmingdale-Babylon area. The 15 photo and model exhibits in the lobby of the Republic Airport Terminal building are accessible to the public, without charge, 365 days a year. The extensive photograph and document collection can be accessed by appointment.
The extensively illustrated website http:// lirepublicairporths.googlepages.com is accessible without charge. The Society is trying to locate area residents who worked, or whose family members, worked for Fairchild, Seversky, Republic, Ranger, Fairchild-Republic from 1928 to 1987 in East Farmingdale to be further educated about important events at the airport, and to possibly enhance the collections. Dues are $10 a year and membership provides two 25 to 30 page illustrated electronic newsletters per year. We meet every third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Republic Airport Terminal building. Anyone seeking a membership application, or slideshow/lectures on the history of Republic Airport, can e-mail ldoug361@optonline.net
