•Steven Kaiser, of West Babylon, was awarded a Presidential Scholarship to attend Alfred State College, Alfred, New York. Kaiser is slated to graduate in 2009 from West Babylon High School and intends to enroll in the mechanical engineering technology science program.
•Named to the dean's list at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for the spring 2008 semester are the following local residents: Brian Shaw, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Arthur Shaw of Babylon, is a first year student majoring in robotics engineering and Trevor Olsen, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Matthew Olsen of West Islip, is a first year student majoring in biomedical engineering.
•Holy Trinity Diocesan High School has announced its honor roll for the first quarter. Named to the "A" honor roll, from West Babylon are Breanna Amorde, Jade Greco, Samantha Novak and Brianne Weiss; from Babylon are Teresa Austin, Marisa Caruso, Jeannine Florio and Julia-anne Florio and from Lindenhurst are Lauren Giunta, Alison LaManna, Meaghan Lynch and Cristian Mendoza. Named to the "B" honor roll, from Babylon is Terence Barclay; from North Babylon are Kevin Brosnan and Erin Hayes and from Lindenhurst is Giancarlo Casella.
•During the December commencement at the State University of New York at New Paltz, the following local residents received bachelor's degrees: from North Babylon are Tracy Burstein, Robert Foley and Matthew Vitale; from West Islip is Kristen Baum and from West Babylon is Rebecca Wuss.

•Matthew Cummings, of Babylon Village, has been named to the President's List at Farmingdale State College for the spring of 2008 with a 4.0 GPA and the fall of 2008 with a 3.75 GPA.

•Melissa Kranis of West Islip, a business administration major at York College of Pennsylvania, has been named to the Senior Honor Society.

•Megan Quarant, of North Babylon, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2008 semester at Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

•Lori-Ann Cavallo, of Deer Park, has been named to the president's list at the State University of New York at Geneseo for the fall 2008 semester. To be on the list, a student must have an A in all coursework.
