Islip Town Councilman John Edwards, shown right, recently hosted the Shadow Day program at Islip Town Hall. Every Groundhog Day, students from the Islip School District are invited to "shadow" an Islip Town department head or commissioner for a day in order to get an inside look at how town government functions on a daily basis.
