Guest speaker at Amityville High School

Jacqueline Murekatete, an internationally recognized human rights activist and genocide survivor, will speak out for victims and survivors of genocide, Thurs, March 12, 7 to 9 p.m. at Amityville Memorial High School, 250 Merrick Rd., Amityville.

Born in Rwanda in 1984, Murekatete was not yet 10 when she lost her entire immediate and extended family to the 1994 Rwandan Tutsi genocide. All are welcome to come hear her story.

This meeting is part of an overall effort being funded through the NYS Amityville COMPASS Coalition Grant, SAMHSA and NYS OASAS Agency.
