West Islip HS senior accepts Lacrosse scholarship
      West Islip High School senior Ian Braddish recently signed a letter of intent with the University of North Carolina to play lacrosse on a lacrosse scholarship. Deer Park students use creativity for change
      The Deer Park School District was represented by nine students at New York State Assemblyman Andrew P. Raia's There Ought to Be a Law Poster Contest Award Ceremony. Students from John F. Kennedy Intermediate, John Quincy Adams and May Moore Elementary Schools were all honored for their winning posters.

Lindenhurst Bulldogs season rocks
      The Lindenhurst Bulldogs football team had a successful 2008 season, reaching the Suffolk County Division I Championship Game at Stony Brook University's LaValle Stadium. Even though Lindenhurst lost to Connetquot by a score of 17-3, the team has much to be proud of.

Babylon students score in top percentile
      Last May, students in Clair Reilly's college accounting and marketing classes at Babylon High School put their knowledge to the test and participated in the National Financial Literacy Challenge, endorsed by the President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy.

Santapogue Elementary students say no to drugs
      Santapogue Elementary School in the West Babylon School District joined other schools nationwide on Oct. 20 for a Red Ribbon ceremony where they pledged to pursue a healthy lifestyle by avoiding illegal and controlled substances. Students, faculty, and staff attended the anti-drug event.
