Copiague man charged with lewdness in front of MS students
Suffolk County Police today arrested a Copiague man for committing lewd acts in front of several middle school students.
First Squad detectives began the investigation Wed., Feb. 11, when students from the Copiague Middle School complained that they noticed a man masturbating in a green 1994 Chrysler minivan parked in the vicinity of the school as the children walked on Great Neck Road.
Two incidents occurred on Tuesday, February 10, but were not reported until, February 11. Acting on information they received, detectives conducted a stakeout this morning. Detectives located the suspect, Raul Lizcano, 44, of 597 Greenlawn Terrace in his vehicle masturbating, and arrested him at 7:45 a.m.
Detectives feel that Lizcano may have began performing this activity in September, and was not reported to school or police authorities. Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying other victims.
Lizcano's Chrysler, with New York registration ACU 7872, usually has been seen in the vicinity of Great Neck Road and Bethpage Road. Lizcano also may have driven a white four-door vehicle.
Lizcano was charged with four counts of Public Lewdness and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Lizcano will be held overnight at the First Precinct, and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
