Babylon Villager, Anna Woodford, at 93
Devoted mother and grandmother Anna Maria Woodford died Jan. 11, 2009 after an illness. She was 93 years old and lived in Babylon Village for more than 50 years.
She was born in Brooklyn and lived there for many years before moving to Babylon Village. She dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children and home said her family.
According to her son, Dennis, she was the Sunday School teacher for many years at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Babylon before it relocated to Deer Park Avenue.
Mrs. Woodford leaves behind her husband of 74 years, Henry; her sons, Dennis and his wife Priscilla of Babylon and Henry and his wife Marjorie of La Grande, Oregon and her grandchildren, Denise D. Stickevers, Donna Marie Lorber, Robert R. Compono and Priscilla Ann Roccaforte. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Adam, Robert Jr., and John.
She reposed at the Noce Funeral Home, West Babylon, on Nov. 13 and 14, 2008 followed by a private cremation.
