West Islip High School holds annual holiday coat drive

During the holiday season, West Islip High School Student Senate coordinated the district-wide annual coat drive and collected over a thousand coats, which were given to the Wyandanch Community Center for distribution. Every school in the West Islip School District collected coats for the coat drive.

"The amount of coats raised by our community was unbelievable, hundreds and hundreds of coats were collected. Everyone did a phenomenal job. Stephanie Jackson, by herself, for the second year in a row, collected over 100 coats," said Norm Wingert, advisor to the High School Student Senate.
