Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 1 PM, prevailing time, in the conference room of the offices of the Suf folk Count y Department of Public Works, 335 Yaphank Avenue, Yaphank, New York, Gilbert Anderson, P.E., Commissioner and Administrative Head of Suffolk County Sewer Districts will cause a public hearing to be held upon the Schedule of Charges for the excess strength surcharges of waste discharged to Suffolk County Sewer Districts. The aforesaid disposal charge shall be increased to $0.20 per pound of BOD, $0.43 per pound of solids, and $0.56 per pound of chlorine demand effective April 1, 2009. The excess strength surcharge shall be applied to wastes having characteristics in excess of the following limits and concentrations:

Five day, twenty degree - Celsius BOD: 300 parts per million

Suspended Solids: 300 parts per million

Chlorine Demand:

25 parts per million

The details of said Schedules of Fees and Charges, including manner and time of payment, penalties for nonpayment and delinquencies, and other related matters will be presented in full at the said public hearing. Copies of said Schedule of Fees and Charges are on file and may be seen at the Office of the Department of Public Works, 335 Yaphank Avenue, Yaphank, New York, during business hours, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

All interested parties should appear and will be heard at the above time and place.

Please be advised that the public has a right to submit testimony, in writing, as well as the name of a contact person with whom such testimony may be filed to be made a part of the official record.
