Lamens was the guest speaker recently at a special program at Lindenhurst Middle School, during which parents received some important advice about planning for college. Lamens' main advice was to "start planning early."

Lamens also explained that planning for college should not wait until a student is in high school. It is important for students to take challenging classes and contribute to their school and communities by participating in extracurricular activities, which can begin at the middle school level.
