Alfiero Named Director of Pharmacy at Good Samaritan Hospital Center

James Alfiero

James Alfiero was recently appointed director of pharmacy at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, West Islip. In his new position, he will be responsible for medication safety standards for the department. Additionally, Alfiero will be responsible for hospital compliance with the Joint Commission, an organization whose goal is to improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services.

Alfiero joined Good Samaritan in 1994 after graduating with a bachelor's in pharmacy form Arnold and Marie Schwatz College of Pharmacy. Promoted to pharmacy supervisor in 2002, Alfiero assumed the role of acting director in 2006.

Alfiero is married to Claudia, also a pharmacist; they have three children, Nicholas, Anthony and Vincent.
