Southwest Elementary students enter environmental poster contest

Students in Southwest Elementary School in the Brentwood Union Free School District have submitted artwork into the Come Go With Me poster contest. The winning posters will be showcased in LITM's 2009 Come Go With Me calendar, which will be distributed across Long Island. This contest gives students the opportunity to illustrate transportation alternatives aimed at reducing the impact of traffic congestion on the environment. Students who submitted work include: Sofania Canizales, grade 2; Gabrielle Gonzalez, Giovanni Marcano, Senjuti Sista, Jasmin Vasquez, Eric McGhee, grade 4; and Sumith Varghese, grade 5.
