Lou D'Amaro honors North Babylon Hoopsters
In recognition of their second Double A Long Island Championship title, another im­Leg. pressive season that took them to the New York State finals and their academic excel­lence, players and coaches from the North Babylon High School varsity girls basketball team were recently honored by S.C. Leg.Lou D'Amaro (D-North Babylon) at the Legisla­ture's May 13 general meeting. A resident of the school district, Legislator D'Amaro presented the team and district administrators with Proclamations before the entire Suffolk County Legislature. The team's impressive on-court accomplishments were matched by their efforts in the classroom as they received a New York State Scholar Athlete team award for achieving a cumulative grade point aver­age of 91.85. "I commend all of the players, coaches and supporting administrators who have combined educational excellence with athletic prowess to bring honor to the community," Legisla­tor D'Amaro said. "I am proud to call them my neighbors and am confident that they will continue to represent North Babylon well in their future endeavors." Shown with Leg.
