Joseph Ardito, founder of Ardito Business Systems Former West Islip resident and West Babylon business owner Joseph Nicholas (Lodato) Ardito died May 27, 2008 in Stuart, Florida. He was 83 years old. He was born in Brooklyn on New Years Day 1925 to Thomas Lodato and Santa "Josephine" (Florito) and graduated from Lindenhurst High School. During World War II he served as an airplane mechanic for the U.S. Marines in Guam and Okinawa. In 1952 he moved from Brooklyn to West Islip and lived there for 30 years. That same year he founded Ardito Business Machines & Office Equipment in Lindenhurst, which family members are now running. After his retirement in 1982 he moved to Stuart, Florida. According to his family he was a gifted, self-taught stained glass maker who loved to spend time with loved ones. In addition to his wife Hilma of Stuart, Florida, Mr. Ardito also leaves behind his children: Ronald and his wife Maria "Ria," Clifford and his wife Robin, Jane Tinelli and her husband Jack and Ellen Weinstein and her husband Sheldon; his stepsons: John Tune and James Tune and his wife Jackie; his grandchildren: Meghan Oliveri and her husband Franco, David Young, Clifford
Weinstein, Tracy Weinstein, Jillian Weinstein, Ronald and his wife Victoria, Brian, Nicholas, Thomas and Victoria; his step grandchildren: Hayley, Dallas and Patrick; his great granddaughter: Sophia; and his ex-wife, Joan Maier. Graveside services took place at the Fellowship Baptist Church cemetery in Fellowship, Florida. Arrangements entrusted to the Martin Funeral Home & Crematory in Stuart, Florida.
