LSD female athletes honored at breakfast
Lindenhurst Middle School celebrated National Women in Sports Day with a special bagel breakfast to honor over 200 seventh and eighth grade girls. Female athletes were honored for their achievements on and off the field in leadership and dedication to their teams. Now in its 22nd year and its ninth at Lindenhurst Middle School, the middle school athletes were awarded certificates and orange tee-shirts.
A speech from Lindenhurst Middle School guidance counselor Allison McCourt talked about her personal experiences with equal rights for women. "This program is an honor for all female middle school athletes," said organizer Andrea Curran. Shown in the photo, Lindenhurst Middle School female athletes celebrate National Women in Sports Day.
