Raymond Melick, formerly of Amityville Former Amityville resident Raymond D. "Puggy" Melick died March 20, 2008 at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Born in Amityville, he spent most of his life on Ocean Avenue before moving to North Carolina. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Susan (nee Deale, formerly of West Islip); his sons: David, Raymond and his wife Carolanne, Geoffrey and his wife Karyn, Trebor and his wife Mara and Christian and his wife Kim; his grandchildren: Hannah, David and his wife Ellen, Robert and his wife Erica, Lisa Beth, Michelle, Kristen, Cassie, Brandon, Justin, Spencer, Christian and Paige; and his two great grandchildren: Jillian and Sean. Twiford Funeral Home in Elizabeth City, North Carolina handled all funeral arrangements.
