Thomasina McGowan, of West Babylon

Former longtime West Babylon resident Thomasina "Tommy" McGowan died March 23, 2008 at Legacy House in Ocala, Florida. She had lived in Oak Run, Florida for 15 years.

Born in Astoria, Queens, she graduated from Holy Cross Academy and Berkeley School of Business. For many years she worked in the foreign relations department as an administrative assistant in the Bank of Manhattan and as a department manager for Underwriter Laboratories in Melville for 30 years.

Mrs. McGowan leaves behind her children: Eileen Buzzard and her husband James of East Amherst and Patricia Fox of Houston, Texas; her five grandchildren; her sister, Frances Dalmau of Oak Run, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack.

During her time in Florida, she was an avid volunteer of the Munroe Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and the Oak Run Homeowners Association.

Funeral Arrangements were handled by the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home in Ocala, Florida.
