Dorothy Feis, West Babylon resident
Born Dorothy Vogel in Springfield Gardens, Queens as Dorothy Vogel, she moved to18th Street in West Babylon in 1958 and raised seven children. She lived there for 50 years. When she wasn't caring for her own family, she was visiting patients as a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. "My mother just loved to help people," said her daughter, Debbie Peck of West Islip. "That was her hobby, she cared for family, friends and anyone that needed it." Mrs. Feis was also longtime parishioner and volunteer at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church in West Babylon. In addition to her daughter, Debbie, she also leaves behind her children: Katherine Morano-Bucking of West Islip, Diane Sacco of West Babylon, Bonnie Lee Cashmore of Rokonkoma, Louis of North Babylon, George of West Ilsip and Eugene of West Babylon; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her brothers: Eugene and George. She was predeceased by her husband, George L. in 1998. She reposed at the Claude R. Boyd- Spencer Funeral Home in Babylon Village on March 27 and 28, 2008. A Funeral Mass was said on March 29, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church. Interment followed at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
