West Babylon wins award for litteracy program

West Babylon Senior High School's Financial Literacy Program was presented to the members of the Board of Education on Nov. 19. Several faculty members took the opportunity to elucidate on the program including Principal Dr. Ellice Vassallo, Social Studies Chairperson Donna McGrath, AP economics teacher, Scott Snyder and student Donald Doukas.

Vassallo was pleased to announce that the New York State Education Department and the Financial Literacy Coalition have named the high school a 2007 Blue Star School. This recognition is given to schools in which over 75 percent of their senior class have passed the Financial Literacy Certification Test. The school will be presented with a Blue Star Banner at the MoneyPOWER Conference for Educators.
