Gov. Paterson taps local leader for post at Farmingdale College

Robert Stricoff

Robert Stricoff, Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Babylon's Industrial Development Agency and chairman of the Babylon Town Democratic Committee, has been appointed by Gov. David Paterson to the Farmingdale College Council. The announcement was made today by College President Dr. W. Hubert Keen.

Since 2003, Stricoff's responsibilities at the agency have included enhancing the town's economic development through developing a marketing and public relations campaign to attract new businesses and jobs and managing a budget of $700,000. Part of the Town of Babylon government since 1997, Stricoff has assumed increasingly responsible positions.

He assumed the post as Babylon Town Democratic Chairman when former Babylon Supervisor Richard Schaffer stepped down to assume the post as political leader for the Suffolk County Democratic Party.

From 1993-1996, Stricoff served as a Supply Sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Stricoff earned a BA in Political Science and Communications from Queens College and a MS in Business Administration. He lives in Oak Beach with his wife Abigail and toddler son Benjamin.
