Lindenhurst High School senior receives scholarship from prestigious Norwich University

Kevin Weingaertner has been selected as a recipient of the Norwich University Honors Scholarship, based on his outstanding academic achievement and his dedication and commitment to excellence. The scholarship is $50,000, payable over four years at $12,500 per academic year.

Norwich University is the oldest, private military academy in the United States. It is known as the Birthplace of ROTC (Reserves Officers' Training Corp.).

Weingaertner has always challenged himself by taking honors, college, and advanced placement classes. He takes pride in his schoolwork and spends time dedicated to learning. He is a part of the Junior ROTC program where he is known as a "committed cadet." He is also dedicated to the Boy Scouts, where he is currently a "life scout." He is also a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, the highest position for a scout under 18 years old.
