South Bay Elementary School in West Babylon students practice reading dramatic arts

The students in Mrs. Mostransky's class at South Bay Elementary School in the West Babylon School District gained useful practice in reading and dramatic arts by participating in Readers' Theatre. Readers' Theatre is an instructional model in which students decide on a play based on familiar stories and play the role of a character in that story. Recently, second graders, Sarah Batho, Allan Mackay, and Sebastian Cavada along with Mostransky, presented the story of "The Gingerbread Man" for the principal, Mrs. Scott, who was very impressed with the children's enthusiasm, reading skills, and excellent use of dramatic expression.
