Positions Dance Studio teams up with “Dance Across America” bringing joy to pediatric cancer patients

Along with studios across the United States, Positions Dance Studio director, Victoria Carra will oversee the dancers as they collect pledges for hours danced. The efforts will be capped off with a Dance-a-thon on Sat., April 21s at the Babylon location

Dance Across America" is one of many fundraising efforts created by the Andrea Rizzo Foundation, a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization dedicated to bringing dance therapy to children with cancer at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center, NYC and to children with special needs in local public schools and local Ronald McDonald Houses. Created in memory of a young special education teacher, Andrea Rizzo was a dance therapy graduate student at NYU and survivor of childhood cancer who was killed at the age of 24 by a drunk driver. The foundation aspires to bring dancers, both young and old together to blend dance and compassion. Dancers of all ages in all parts of the country can make a difference in the lives of fragile children by doing what they love best...dancing!

Sponsor, Everlast Women's Wear is providing prizes for the top three nationwide pledge raisers. First prize is a complete Everlast Women's Wear Wardrobe and the winner will have their photo featured in Dance Teacher magazine, compliments of McFadden Performing Arts Media, LLC.
