Stella McNamara, of Babylon

Former Babylonian and longtime Good Samaritan Hospital volunteer Stella Kendall "Twink" McNamara died March 21, 2008 at Autumn Care in Shallotte, North Carolina. She was 92 years old.

She was born in Babylon April 5, 1915 to Elbert and Stella Heinz Kendall and later worked as a "Rosey the Riveter" during World War II helping to make plane parts at the Republican Aviation Corporation in Farmingdale. For many years she was employed at Winds Candy Factory and was a longtime volunteer at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip.

She had lived in Florida for 16 years before moving to Sayville. In 1998 she moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.

Mrs. McNamara leaves behind her daughter: Mary A. "Mickey" McGreevey of Wilmington, North Carolina; her grandchildren: Kim Kennard Parga and Kerrie-Ann Kennard Stadium; her great grandchildren: Adam, Alicia, Brendan, O'Neal and Morgan; and her great great granddaughter: Joielle.She was predeceased by her husbands, James F. McNamara and Thomas J. McGreevey.

A Prayer Service was said on March 24, 2008 at Andrews Market Street Chapel in Wilmington, North Carolina. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 25, 2008 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington, North Carolina followed by private burial.
