Parent Resource Center offers workshops The Parents' Resource Center of the Deer Park School District offers community members an informal forum in which to discuss ideas and ask questions about any relevant issues or concerns they may have. The Center conduct workshops, seminars and discussion groups on topics chosen based on parental interest and needs. Programs are held at the Abraham Lincoln School, 300 Park Ave., Room 11, Deer Park. The following groups will be conducted in the near future: •A Program on Dealing With Peer Pressure will be held Fri., April 18, 9:30 to 11 a.m. An open discussion of adult peer pressure including tips and strategies to handle any situation. •On Mon., April 28, 9:30 to 11 a.m. a program on How to Talk So Kids Will Listen, How to Listen So Kids Will Talk will be offered. Learn effective communicaiton strategies and techniques. The program will be presented by Scott Agnew, school psychologist.
The Fitness Club will meet in the PRC (AL rm. 11) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tues' April 15, and Tues . April 29 Newcomers are welcome. Information from previous meetings is available.
