Dress Down Friday is a huge success for North Babylon High School

In an effort to raise money for scholarships, two teachers, Meghan Kelly and Cheryl Rowett, have started "dressing down" for a cause. Every Friday, staff members of North Babylon High School are encouraged to "dress down" and donate $1. The money then goes to different scholarships within the school. One such scholarship is near and dear to Mrs. Kelly's heart because it is named in honor of her best-friend and North Babylon graduate, Carissa Dell-Universita-Beanland, who tragically died of cancer at the young age of 29. Only four Fridays into the program, Kelly and Rowett have raised $763. They project that over the next four months they will raise about $3,500 in scholarship money for North Babylon students. This program has proven to be a great success and beneficial to the entire community.
