Former Babylon Village resident, John Trainor at 79

Longtime Babylon Village resident John James Trainor, who spent much of his time boating and fishing on the Great South Bay, died March 3, 2008 after a long illness. He was 79.

A United States Army veteran, he retired after 30 years from British Airways where he was affectionately known as "Big Daddy." He moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1996.

According to his family, he loved politics and Irish music.

Mr. Trainor leaves behind his wife, Irene; his children: Sharon Trainor-Hadmack, John and Kevin; his daughby ters-in-law: Dorothy and Linda; his grandchildren: Kevin, Tyler and Tara; and his sisters: Mary and Dorothy. He was predeceased by his son, Sean.

He reposed at the Florida Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Rockledge, Florida on March 6, 2008. A Memorial Service and interment followed on March 7, 2008.
