Resident named NYSUT winner

Betty Siegel, of Babylon, has been selected by the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) as a 2008 NYSUT Community Service Award Winner. Names of all winners will be displayed at the 2008 Representative Assembly in New York City.

This award was created in 1992 to recognize the contribution of NYSUT members to the growth and well being of the communities where they live and work. Siegel has been involved in establishing the Bay Shore Retired Teachers' Association and served the community as a member of the Babylon Town Board of Ethics, Babylon School Board, the Pilot Club and was a founder of the Livingston Center for senior citizens.
