Our Lady of Consolation Celebration of Life ball set

On Thurs. June 26, Our Lady of Consolation Nursing and Rehabilitative Care Center will host its 14th annual Celebration of Life Ball at Southward Ho Country Club in Bay Shore. This year Rev. Msgr. James C. Vlaun, President and CEO of Telecare, the Diocesan television station, was chosen as the 2008 recipient of the Celebration of Life Award. "Rev. Msgr. Jim has been chosen for the Celebration of Life Award for his outstanding excellence in serving the community and his daily expression of compassion, spirituality and dignity in his everyday work," said Our Lady of Consolation's Administrator Sr. Marilyn Breen, O. P. Douglas J. Chapey, of Chapey & Sons Funeral Home and close friend of Msgr. Jim will serve as chairman of this event. Douglas Chapey was the 2007 Celebration of Life Award recipient and continuously supports this event and the mission of Our Lady of Consolation.

Our Lady of Consolation established the Celebration of Life Award in 1994 to recognize individuals and businesses in the local community for their contributions to the vitality, quality of life, and economic growth of Long Island. All proceeds from this event will go directly to benefit resident and patient activities at Our Lady of Consolation.
