Police arrest Queens man in connection with NB bank robbery

Today’s News-April 8, 2008: A Queens man was arraigned today on charges that he robbed the Chase Bank branch in North Babylon Feb. 2.

Major Case Investigations detectives arrested Jarbah Teh, 23, of 1829 Gateway Blvd., Queens, at 3:50 p.m. yesterday at the Cromarty Court Complex in Riverhead.  He was arrested as a result of a grand jury indictment for one count of robbery, third degree.

Teh had been arrested by the New Rochelle Police Department on March 5 for a bank robbery that occurred in New Rochelle on Feb. 23.  Teh is also a suspect in a Connecticut bank robbery that occurred earlier this year on Jan. 12.

Teh was transported back to Westchester County Jail following his arraignment today.
In the North Babylon incident, Teh allegedly entered the bank at 1:05 p.m. and approached a teller with a note demanding cash and stating that this was a robbery. The teller complied with his demands and gave him cash from the drawer. He fled in an unknown direction.
