Deer Park's Frost students catapult into energy studies

Shown, left to right, are Hayley Jacobs and Sara Goodson, along with the Trebuchet that they built in Mr. Abeltin and Mr. Militello's technology classes.
Students at Deer Park's Robert Frost Middle School have been building catapults in technology class. They learned about the scientific concepts of potential and kinetic energy. This weapon of popularity during the Middle Ages, grabs the students' interests and is a great example of how energy can be converted from one form to another.
