Scholars in the news •Jovan Belcher, of West Babylon, was named to the dean's list at the University of Maine, Orono, Maine, for the fall 2007 semester. •Bentley College, Waltham, Massachusetts, has announced its president's list and dean's list for the fall 2007 semester. Named to the president's list for a GPA of 3.7 or higher are the following West Islip residents: James Cote, Michael Stavrakos and Janine Surace. Named to the dean' s list for a GPA of 3.0 or higher is Jena Rainis, also of West Islip.
•Named to the President's list at Southern New Hampshire University, in Manchester for an average of 3.5 to 4.0 for the fall 2007 semester are Shabaz Hussain of Lindenhurst and Stephanie Barry of West Islip.
