Lindenhurst Village
Mayor, two trustees run unopposed for reelection
By Carolyn James

^Mayor Thomas Brennan and Trustees Jodi Caravallo and Mike Lavorata are running without opposition for four-year terms this week.
Four years ago, when Lindenhurst Village Mayor Tom Brennan and trustees Mike Lavorata and Jodi Caravella ran for election, they faced opposition from a strong team of Democrats who waged a significant, though unsuccessful, fight to unseat them. This time around, the three Republicans are running without opposition, and with cross endorsement from the Democrats, as well as from the Conservative and Independence parties.

"I believe that this shows there is a lot of support, across the board, for what we are doing and how we run the Village," said Brennan in commenting on the endorsements.

Village elections are Tues., March 18. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

"The feedback has been overwhelming from the Lindenhurst community on the great job Tom Brennan and his team are doing," said Robert Stricoff, Babylon Town Democratic leader. "We're proud to offer our party's nomination to the Brennan team."

Brennan, a trustee at the time, was elected Mayor in 2004, defeating another trustee, Ray Doran. Brennan assumes the post of Republican Mayor Lynda Distler, who did not seek reelection.

Lavorata was first elected in 2004. He was a member of the Lindenhurst Zoning Board of Appeals before running for the board and had worked to reduce the time it took for the board to render its decisions.

Caravella was a member of the Lindenhurst Middle School PTA when she first ran four years ago and has worked as a trustee to implement programs to elevate the image and promote pride.
