Historical Society quarterly meeting The quarterly meeting of the Lindenhurst Historical Society will be held Thurs., March 20, 7 p.m. at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library, One Lee Ave., Lindenhurst, off South Wellwood Avenue. The program will feature a video and pictures by the Library of the Old Hotels in Lindenhurst. If you have memories of these locations, come to the meeting and help the group recall some of these stories. Beginning in January of this year, the dues for the Lindenhurst Historical Society have been raised to $5 for annual membership for an individual or family and $30 for life membership.
The Old Village Hall Museum, next to the main fire house, is open every Wed., Fri. and Sat., 2 to 4 p.m. for a free guided tour. It has been redecorated with two quilts, one from 1918 of Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church members and the other from 1976 of Historical Society member's families. Pictures of the hotels that you will see at the meeting are also on display.
