Dear Deer Park...

•At the Deer Park Lions' Annual Pancake Breakfast, President Horace Altobelli and fellow Lions were honored wit h the presence of Lions' International Director William and Nora Watkin and Suffolk County Lion District Governor Frank Arena who were greeting and engaging in delightful conversations and repartee with the overflowing crowd. This is a phenomenal annual event - one not to be missed.

•On April 12, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the D.P.V.F.W., the Deer Park Lions, serving the community for 60 years, are hosting a '50s Doo Wop Spring Dance and Show featuring The Fabulous Acchords for only $35 per person. All proceeds go to local charities and Deer Park community. For more information and tickets please contact Horace at 631-455-2030 or Bill at 516- 971-6948. This should be a great crowd pleaser.

•Birthday greetings to Bob Elliott - February 12 and wife Eileen - January 22 - with their anniversary joy on the 23rd of January. It was a quite a pleasant surprise to see them for the January 25th 50th anniversary of OLOR Past Grand Knight Buddy and his Columbiette Vice President bride Joan Gillespie. Yes, Bob and Eileen, I am still amazed. •Past Columbiette President Mary Reilly Lundin, she of a great sense of humor,was feted by hubby Past Grand Knight OLOR George for her February 9th birthday. Hope Mary did not have to "hover" over the kitchen stove that day.

•Peisker V.F.W. Post's Bob Langdon, an avid angler, was feted by his love, the ever-gracious Joan, daughters Karen Storch and Robert Touseull and their families for his February 9th birthday.

•Twenty two years of wedded bliss for boater Eddie and his actress spouse Linda Bub Bisso on Valentine's Day.

•Happy birthday to brother-in-law Robert Roberson, the star of Valentine's Day for his honey Janet, Eric, Kerrie and Caitlin, his mom Ann, Mary Peisker, Dan and I. Of course, Bubbles chirped in.

•February 17th birthday fellows were:

Anthony and Donna Weissgerber Cordi's adorable Steven, younger brother of Anthony, was honored with a fabulous family dinner celebration.

Gracious Kristine Ostermann's darling Glenn was the star for the day with special hugs and kisses from children Alexa Ray and Glenn Henry.

Lovely Claire Aspenleiter's favorite walking partner Walter, of a quite witty sense of humor, was his family's star on the 17th.

•Mike McEvoy, son of Steve and Colleen (belated January 26th birthday wishes) and brother of Ryan and James was the "Man of the Day" for the devoted McEvoy family.

•The McKeon family celebrates two February birthdays: Matthew on the 22nd and Heather on the 26th. Parents Warren and Cissy (always so bubbly) together with local grandmother, the highly creative Mary Bartalsky, made the days very special. Uncle Geoffrey Bartalsky was the January 15th family star for Lolly and George, Jr.

•February 26th marks the birthday of forever resident

Jimmy Spelman, the man with the fantastic sense of humor. New puppy, Jimmy?

•February 6th was Juanita Mancuso Coolidge's natal day enjoyed with her family, Brian and Connie Coolidge Faria and precious grandchildren Alexander and Isabella with newlywed son Thomas and bride calling from Canada. Matriarch Connie Savino Mancuso and the love of Lou's life is to be the "number one lady" on her February 22nd birthday. Lou and Connie were the hard working owners of the Deer Park Airport (bit of local history) and are still involved in the aviation industry. Yes, Savino's Deli on Commack Road, is owned by Jimmy Savino, their nephew. Congratulations are in order to Connie Faria upon her election to the Ferndale, Washington "City Council" - well done, love - just sorry we could not make it out to your swearing in ceremony.

•Very belated natal day wishes to Benny Morlaci, Lena's love, who was feted with a family dinner prepared by their daughter Connie and adored son-inlaw and Master Chef Michael Santoli.

•Judy and Harald Aukland's Kristen was feted on January 8th with Aunt Elsa and Uncle Ernie Granz singing "Happy Birthday" to Kristen.

•Barbara Koferl Renz's Richie, the family photographer, was the January 14th celebrant - probably with his favorite chocolate donut treats.

•Lovely Mary Hampton's devoted sweetheart Harry was toasted on his January 21st day by Mary and their wonderful family. •I heard that new pup Rudy Rudnicki was the holiday pup of the day for Ed, Marie Elena (Happy belated December birthday) and their children Elena Marie, Kris Marie, Joseph and Edward.

Congratulations to Fred and Past St. Cyril's Rosary President Mercedes Rivera on their 50th wedding anniversary. This is a devoted couple who are very involved at St. Cyril's

•I close with congratulations again to Buddy and Joan Gillespie on their 50 years of marriage. What a wonderful occasion to mark and celebrate with a moving Mass at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church. Monsignor Frank Gaeta's tender words brought tears to many in attendance - especially "two people fell in love..."!
