Harding Avenue Elementary School in Lindenhurst loves PARP

Was it Principal Chamberlin or his "twin brother?" Lindenhurst's Harding Avenue Elementary School kicked off their PARP (Parents as Reading Partners) program with Captain Jack visiting all the classrooms to explain what the PARP program is all about. That evening, the school held a special fun evening with Captain Jack at the helm, with "Around the World" cultural activities.

Each program was set up to help foster a commitment to reading, to ensure that reading is an important part of each student's life. As the threeweek program continued, there were various activities such as the Book Swap, Riddle of the Day, Turn off the TV night, Wear Bright Colors, and Book Bingo.

Shown in the photo are Harding students and parents participate in Book Bingo as a part of PARP festivities.

Shown in the photo is Mr. Chamberlin (a.k.a. Pirate Jack) begins PARP festivities with Mrs. Kast's fourth-graders.
