Former Babylon Village resident Ellen Garvey

Ellen Garvey, who was raised in Babylon Village and was a set designer in California, died Jan. 27, 2008. The longtime resident of both Absorkee, Montana and Malibu, California spent the last ten years in West Islip, caring for her parents.

Born in Manhattan, she was raised in Babylon, the daughter of Jane R. and Francis B. Esq., now deceased.

In addition to her mother, Ellen Garvey leaves behind her siblings: Jane Reilly and Frank; her nieces and nephews, Jessica, Buck and Michael Reilly; her grand nephew, Jackson Razza; her companion, Rafael Bunuel, and many cousins.

Ms. Garvey reposed at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home on Jan. 29, 2008. A Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial was said January 30, 2008 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Babylon. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.
