W.I.H.S. has two National Merit finalists
National Merit Scholarship finalists A.J. Leiman and Kathryn Sullivan (pictured with West Islip High School Principal Ken Hartill) are in competition for two of about 8,000 scholarships to be offered in the spring. Previously announced as being among the nation's National Merit Scholar 16,000 semifinalists, the two seniors have now advanced to finalist standing in the competition and have received Certificates of Merit. Scholarship offers will be mailed to finalists beginning in March, 2008.
