Bay Shore students take part in NYSSMA

Two Bay Shore High School students participated in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Music Festival in Rochester.
Eleventh grader Brittney Sanders was selected to perform with the All State Symphonic Band being awarded sixth chair in the first clarinet section. Twelfth grader Michael Rodriguez won the Electronic Music Composition Competition with his original piece entitled Unspoken. He and nine other student composers participated in a composition symposium and an awards ceremony/ concert in which his piece was played.
Eleventh grader Jason Lombardo won an honorable mention in that same category and 12th grader Michael McClure was selected to be an alternate for the All-State Orchestra as a string bass player.
