Santapogue Elementary students honored for artwork

Three artists of the week were chosen at the Santapogue Elementary School in the West Babylon School District. Kindergarten student Samuel Callahan, shown top left, was the winner for October 15. He was honored for his Pointillism Butterfly in primary colors. Shown top right, fifth grader Robert Pittman- Dilluvio's Native American Wampum was recognized as outstanding for the week of October 22.

Shown bottom left, Destiny Fager, a third grader, won for the week of October 29. Her project was Skeleton Portrait inspired by Mexico's Day of the Dead. Shown bottom right, Vera Rodic, a member of the second grade class, created Pumpkin Line after learning about Henri Matisse and the Fauvist art movement.
