Town of Islip Traffic Safety Board receives Bronze Award in AAA Community Traffic Safety Awards Program

Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan recently congratulated the Town of Islip Traffic Safety Board for winning a Bronze Award in the AAA Community Traffic Safety Awards Program (CTSAP). The Traffic Safety Board was awarded for hosting a variety of driver-safety educational programs, including a child safety seat program, safe driving seminars for teenagers and their parents, and an annual bicycle safety poster contest for children in Islip Town elementary schools.

CTSAP is a nationwide awards and recognition program for communities that actively engage in enforcement, education, and engineering efforts to improve traffic safety.

The Town of Islip was among the top three Town's from among all of New York State's local cities, counties, Towns and villages considered. The awards program considers pedestrian, bicycle, school bus and senior safety education programs, as well as traffic engineering.
