L.I. Decoy Collector's Associaton show at Patchogue Manor

Ben Sohm, left, and Charles DeQuillfeldt III, are shown admiring a goose decoy (circa 1935) made by DeQuillfeldt's father as a "hunting tool" used in his waterfowl guiding livelihood, in Amityville over 70 years ago.

Charles and his wife Sandy even honeymooned during duck season aboard his father's cabinboat "Hunter" in 1949.

Many other "collectible" decoys will be exhibited at the 37th annual L.I. Decoy Collector's Association show at Patchogue Manor, 9-11 Railroad Ave., Patchogue on Sat. March 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Patchogue Manor is reached at 631-475-1725. For more information on the show call Mel Phaff at 631-765- 5499.
