Precinct advocacy project

Victims of domestic violence are often afraid to report the crimes committed against them to police. The Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence's (SCCADV) was the first agency in the nation to realize the importance of having a trained victims' advocate in the police precincts.

SCCADV's Precinct Advocacy Project places trained advocates in all seven Suffolk County Police Precincts. Advocates are available to counsel and support victims of domestic violence. The advocates can speak with victims at the precincts or on the phone at the time the incidents are reported.

For more information or if you would like to speak to a precinct advocate, call 631-666-7181.
