Police make 9 arrests at Wyandanch home

Suffolk County's First Squad Detectives, with the assistance of Emergency Services and First Precinct COPE Units, executed a search warrant on Jan. 23 at a home at 65 Jefferson Avenue, Wyandanch. Police said they have had numerous complaints and calls to that location, which is a "well-known crack house."

Police Officers Carmine Pellegrino and John Sheridan developed information that along with neighborhood complaints led to the issuance of the search warrant.

Nine subjects were arrested for loitering, first degree: Edmund W. Wachtler, 37; William H. Neal, 52; Sharone Freebournes, 18, (also charged with criminal possession of a gravity knife); Kenneth Williams, 64; Bobby Anthony, 50, (also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th degree, (crack/cocaine), all of 65 Jefferson Avenue; David L. Gilbert, 45, of 47 Penndale Dr., North Amityville; Joseph Presswood, 42, of 60 Arlington Ave., Wyandanch; Natasha Ann Jones, 25 of 22 Cypress Dr., Wyandanch, and James Flemings, 34, (also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th degree (crack/cocaine), 36 Beech St., Wyandanch.
