Budding authors at WB's Forest Avenue School

The Forest Avenue Elementary School in the West Babylon School District shines the spotlight on the school's best authors and artists each month. For the month of January, Principal Tona chose Kelsie Gering, Emma Cantwell, Sneha Kumar, and Anjelica Zambrano as the featured artists. While Anjelica focused on New Year's Resolutions in her work, the other young ladies created winter scenes. Deborah Witt and Kayla Reese, the feted authors, both wrote essays about the stumbling blocks in their lives.

West Babylon students win art contest

Two students from West Babylon High School in the West Babylon School District won prizes in this year's PTA Regional Reflections Art Competition. Matthew Ahl, a senior, entered a video which won the Award of Excellence in the Film Production category. Christine Colligan, also in the 12th grade, submitted a drawing that received the Award of Merit in the Visual Arts category. Ahl's work was picked to be judged at the next level of the contest - the New York State level.
