Islip Art Museum call for artists

The Islip Art Museum is seeking proposals for installations and site-specific work for the Museum's Carriage House Project Space on the grounds of Brookwood Hall, 50 Irish Ln., East Islip.

Artists are invited to submit proposals by the postmark deadline of April 15. Projects will be reviewed by a distinguished panel of artists, arts professionals and museum officials. Selected proposals will be announced on June 1. Selected artists will receive an artist's fee of $500, plus support services and some technical assistance to create works in the Carriage House for an exhibition extending from Aug. 16 through Oct. 5.

Interested artists should visit the Islip Art Museum's web site (islipartmuseum.org) to download a copy fo the application instructions. A floor plan is available on the web site, but applicants should try to visit the Carriage House site or attend the Open House on March 15, 11 a.m. before submitting a proposal.

The Carriage House is Long Island's center for experimental art. The 10,000 square foot landmark structure is administered by the Islip Art Museum.
