WI's State Champion lacrosse team receive rings
This is an especially good night," said Coach Scott Craig, "because is the first team to win back-toback state championships in the 50- year history of West Islip High school lacrosse athletics." The team was also voted number one in the nation. "It was truly a cooperative effort," the coach continued to say as he also congratulated Assistant Coaches Bill Turri, Peter Murray and Patrick Rall.
Over the last four years, the team amassed an 84-4 record with four Suffolk County and Long Island championships and three appearances in state championship games.
